Launch #1 Seneca Lake State Park

The launch at SLSP is well worth the drive and people drive long distances
to sail here.  The only rub is the $6 park fee.

Directions:  Thruway exit 42, south on NY Rt 14 into Geneva and east for about 1 mile
on Rts 20/5.  Shortly before the turn-off for NY Rt 96A, turn right at sign for SLSP. 
Pass thru toll booth and follow drive about 1.2 miles.  Turn right at sign for park
office/concession stand/beach and park as close to the concession stand as possible.
 Alternatively, pass the park office turn off and parking spaces will appear
on the right hand side of the road.

There is a wide, sandy beach behind the concession stand and behind the kiddy playground.
The gear carry from where you park your car to the water can be 150 feet or more, depending
on where you park.  Launch faces SW into Seneca Lake

Best Wind Directions:  S, SW, W and NW. 

Fees:  $6 admission all summer and weekends til Columbus day

Launch #2 Lakefront Park in Geneva

Directions:  Thruway exit 42, south on NY Rt 14 into Geneva and east on Rts 20/5. 
In about 1/4 mile, passing the Ramada Inn on your right.  Turn right at traffic light for
Lake Street at the ? sign for information.  Bear right into a gravel
parking lot.  At end of gravel parking lot is a grassy field slopes down to a
sandy/gravel launch area behind "Danger No Swimming" signs.  Launch faces SE

Fees:  None

Best Wind Directions:  E, SE, S, SW

Strategize:  Although Lakefront park has no fee, SLSP has a better W and NW exposure. 
Keep in mind that in the off-season, SLSP is free
